If there's any doubt that the Kings are headed to the #stanleycup final…it's not in their minds or mine!
The Devils Rangers series appears to be headed for the long haul too.. So who ever survives to meet the Kings will be beat-up and tired…while the Kings will be well rested, healed, and well prepared for their adversaries.
As much as I hate to admit it… I have to pick the LA Kings to win the #stanleycupfinal

I've come to the conclusion that this Harper Government is either completely incompetent to govern Canada, stating at every turn ignorance of things they should absolutely know.. or they are not being honest with Canadians and trying to pull a fast one over on all of us!

Here's a cute one to EI changes… "However the proposed amendments, buried in the government's omnibus budget bill, contain no details or definitions, simply empowering the minister to change regulations without parliamentary scrutiny."
Does that sound fair? Do Canadians want the Minister of Human Resources empowered to make ANY changes she/he may desire.. without any Parliamentary oversight?
She could easily say (with this law in place) that nope… you don't get EI unless you agree to move to "Elbow Sask. and take that street sweepers job" (ignoring the fact that you have a degree in Education.. but your teachers job in Ontario was cut because of cuts to Education!)
There are so many changes and things hidden within this Omnibus Bill it is scary.. and it's time Canadians took to the streets and forced this Government to split this into separate motions.
The Conservative Government is being dishonest with Canadians by not allowing each motion to stand on it's own merits!!

Hey Computer workers.. Is your weight a problem?
Published May 16, 2012 | Ok guys and gals of the Social Media scene.. let's be honest. Is sitting at your computers day-n-night causing your clothes to shrink? lol
Have you said to yourself.. "Gee.. I need to shed a few pounds"? (or has your significant other suggested it?)
Has your buddy poked you in the guy saying.. "Hey big fella!"?
Heaven forbid if someone's asked you.. "Um… are you pregnant?" (and you aren't??
I've been working online for several years now.. both part-time, and now full time.. and the spread has caught up to me.. and I'm determined to beat the bulge!
But it's hard to know where to start.. what to do.. how to calculate things.. how to set goals.. on and on and on..
I'm definitely not one to join a "weight loss program".. I'm more of a "do-it-yourselfer"…
And so I found this Body Weight simulator program with some pretty kewl features.. that allowed me to see where I am.. and calculate what I need to do to get back to my ideal weight range.
In my case for a gradual change to ideal weight in 120 days.. I have to reduce my intake to just under 2000 calories, and increase my physical activity by 20%
These were moderate goals.. and I really don't know how much food equates to 2000 calories

I calculated my activity of brisk walking.. and by doubling my walking time (the dog will love it) to 90 minutes.. I burn over half the net calories I need to reduce, and if I reduce my intake by cutting out those extra servings, reduce my portion sizes, and drink more water.. I should be able to reach my goals by holiday time in August!

New Google Research Tool

Anyway.. tonight I was in a Google Doc and up pops this box on the right side of page titled "Research"

Very useful indeed.. just what I'm coming to expect from Google.

Published May 15, 2012 | Even though the Judge felt he had to rule the child porn traces on Michael Rafferty's computer were inadmissible evidence (not covered by the police warrant) the Jury still managed to see through the veil of Rafferty's defense.. and they came to the right decision. The only decision.

I cried this morning.. grieving for Tori
Published May 15, 2012 | I wept out my own victim impact statement for little Tori Stafford and I hugged my kids a little tighter, and I cautioned them again to never go with anyone.. a girl or boy.. not for any reason.. without talking to me first.
I grieve for Tori, sharing only the smallest bit of understanding of the emptiness and grief that her family must still be going through.
All decent human beings capable of loving another life can get a sense of the loss this family feels, but we'll never truly know the depth and the mortal anguish that they have faced and will continue to face every day they wake up.. and until they die… unless we've faced this kind of tragedy ourselves.
We ALL have been impacted by these killers and our lives have been diminished with the loss of Tori Stafford.
Is life in prison punishment enough for this brutal murder?
One can only hope that these two sick people suffer daily the cries that Tori must have screamed out as they abused, and raped, and bludgeoned her to death.. and that every day is as empty and filled with pain.. just like Tori's family will face.
Michael Rafferty tried to defend himself. He claimed himself innocent of the charges.. but there's no question he was present and an active participant, and his claims are those of a true coward, a coward capable of stealing the life a helpless and defenseless 8 year old girl.. perhaps the most despicable crime that a person can possibly commit.
The names of Michael Rafferty and Terri-Lynne McClintic will be immortalized in the news and in the rolls of Canada's most heinous criminals…and immortalized in infamy.
But it is really Tori Stafford who we should remember and immortalize.
She should be the shining symbol to forever mark the end of crimes like this.. but sadly.. we know.. that Tori won't be the last…
